Buspar is not a med. that makes you sleepy nor is it an addictive med. just so you know. Honestly don’t know how it affects the liver though.

Eh..I would lay off the alcohol for a while until you figure out how buspar effects you. It is a pretty heavy duty anxiolytic drug and is usually taken with other mental health conditions. It works tho, so take it. Buspar can make you sleepy, lethargic, and generally out of it. Alcohol can makes these effects worse, and it can get to the point where you may stop breathing. You’re going to drink no matter what, so just wait for around 14 days, about how long it takes for the med to fully take effect, before drinking. Limit the intake to a few drinks no more than three times a week because there are dangerous interactions like liver failure involved. Be safe and I hope you get a grip on your anxiety.

Why don’t you forget about drinking and take your meds so you can get better? In the long run alcohol will just give you more problems than you already have

I am not sure about alcohol before but you should plan on leaving it alone afterward. Buspar is a drug that takes awhile to work while it builds up in your system. There is a good chance that the initial dose won’t be enough.

yes. get your self on the meds and give up the drinking till you know what will happen. Why go drinking if you are trying to get better
